Teaching Value of Credit Rating

Something that should be taught to high school students is how important it is to have a good credit rating. Students should have knowledge of it before they go off to college and rack up credit cards or default on student loans. I never became aware of what affects your credit rating until I got my first "real" job and started applying for credit cards and a car loan. I also did not realize that we all have credit scores which range between 300-900 with the average person of good credit history being around 620. I will definitely be teaching my kids the importance of a good credit history once they enter the high school grades.
