Today is Groundhog Day. I always get mixed up on what happens if the groundhog sees his shadow or does not see his shadow. So to clear things up this is the meaning:
If the groundhog emerges from its burrow and fails to see its shadow because it is cloudy, winter will soon end. If however it is sunny and the groundhog sees his shadow, he will retreat to his burrow for another 6 weeks of winter.
