The Frog Song

Last night I heard the sound of frogs chirping for the first time this year. I love to listen to them while I fall asleep. They can get quite loud at times and they seem to be the loudest before sunset. People either love the peeping or they hate it. Over the years I have welcomed the sound because its a sign of new life in the spring.

The type of frog that I hear at this time of year is the Spring Peeper. Click here to listen to a sample from www.naturesound.com. You can also hear other types of frogs on this site.

  1. I can't hear frogs in the city but when we go to the cabin I can. I love them. Much better than the cicadas we have in the city. I love listening for my cardinals. We always have a pair that make a nest in our yard. They are always so cheerful and so colorful. I don't realize how much I miss them over the winter.

  2. I have really only noticed more the chirping birds lately, but that is probably because like Jen commented... hard to hear a lot of things and appreciate them in the city.

By the way, I work as a virtual assistant of The Healthy Moms ( http://www.thehealthymoms.net ), the site is fairly new and I thought I would drop by some mom and health related sites to spread the word.

  4. I heard singing frogs this morning and thought of you! Surprisingly, I wasn't annoyed by them. They were quiet enough to let me fall back asleep. Now, birds, on the other hand.....
